Thank you Emily. The tattoo means such a lot to me. There are some great stories to all my tattoos, I'll share more in time I'm sure!

Your tattoos are gorgeous. And I so get the feeling of feeling 16 again when you are 'hiding' something from your parents. I have two small tattoos on the inside of my wrists: two butterfly halves that when I put my wrists together form a whole and the letters L and R for left and right but also the initials of my sons. The tattoo artist wanted them to point outward so that they would not be upside down for others to see. But these tattoos are mine! They are MY reminders. They remind me of my center and the delicate balance, they remind me where I am in the world and how I am connected through my roots out to my sons. So your tree speaks to me! And my parents do not know I have these tattoos and I also feel like a 16 year old when I meet them and am conscious of hiding them from them.

I also started writing 'a book' and the more I got into it, working on a book proposal and not really getting it finished, I was reminded of the art therapy certification course I did a while ago. I really wanted to get that certification so I could add the therapy element in my painting classes and coaching sessions. In the end I did not get the certification but I did get a lot of art therapy that helped me through a shitty few years. And now, with writing this book, I realise I needed to write it, if only for myself. I have peace with that now whether it ever becomes a published book or not.

It is always lovely when we see that we are not alone in what we go through. So thank you for sharing this!
